Alright, so I'm looking at starting to study the CFA and figured I'd come here for some help. I guess I'll start with background:
-Attend non-target school (finance)
-start this fall as junior
-plan on "double majoring" in finance and accounting (school only offers one official area of emphasis)
-virtually no experience/education when it comes to research, business, investing, etc
So my question is, how would you go about studying for the CFA? I will most likely be taking 5-6 classes each semester (of which 5 will be business-focused, and the other 1 would be gened crud) and have 2 ECs (community service/student organization).
Since I'll be a junior, I've got a bit of time before I can take the CFA 1. I was thinking of putting somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-10 hours of studying per week. That, over 8 months, should give me roughly 300 hours of study time. Any thoughts?
