I am looking for books on equity research so that I can read in my free time. Not really academic books, but not tale-stories either. Something useful for my future equity research careers. Any good recommendations? Thanks.

You could try with Graham and Dodd's Security Analysis book. A bit lighter is 'A Random Walk down Wall Street' which looks both at technical and fundamental analysis. David Einhorn's "Fooling Some of the People All of the Time" is not bad either.
